auto-saving case/data file

Hi all,

I was just wondering whether we really need auto-saving of both case and data files while doing simulations in transient/steady mode.

After I have fixed my case and saved it , and then if I have long no. of iterations; do you think I really require to auto-save both Case and Data files ? I think only auto-saving of Data fie is enough.

Please reply

Kind regards,

Rana

Re: auto-saving case/data file

yes that's correct you need just save the data files if you not make further changes to your case file like changining BC, solver.......etc

Re: auto-saving case/data file

hi baker,

does this mean that for a particular geometry, after reading the case file (say pipe-1000.cas); can i read another data file (say pipe-1500.dat) which is for the same geometry but for different time of flow ?

Pls confirm. Thanks

Re: auto-saving case/data file

Reference to my knowledge I think the case file not change with increasing the time step under the same initial setting at time equal to zero, the only thing change is the data files. Hope this help
