porosity

Hi to all. can anyone tel me how to use porosity option.. in my problem i know only porosity.. can i give the value of the porosity with physical velocity formulation without specifying the inertial coefficients (C2). does it give correct results.. i need to find the pressure drop across the porous zone. plz let me know.. thanks in advance

Re: porosity

You need to give pressure drop coefficents. Delta P = 1/2 *friction factor*rho*U(min )

Hi,

it is better that you find the pressure drop across the porous zone, ie. delta P vs vel. You may refer to fluent manual in order to calculate the inertial coefficient C2 and viscous coefficient 1/alpha.
