postprocessing model with wall functions??????????

Hi,

I am post-processing a model which applies k-e model with wall functions. Mu question is the following. When I post-proccess in tecplot I plot the boundary layer velocity profile. I the region that is the wall adjacent cell, I get a velocity distribution that seems correct for Y+ <12 (i.e. Y+=U+). Now my question is the following: how is this possible, since the inner layer does not get resolved in this case, right? Does tecplot apply a different interpolation polynomial for the wall adjacent cells than for the cells that are not next to the wall?

If I am completely mistaken would you please tell me how this works?

Thanks a lot
