Default Reducing residuals with PDF combustion model

I am currently running several simulations using the PDF transport combustion model for turbulent fully premixed combustion. The residuals have leveled off at values that are higher than I would ideally like (continuity is 1E-2). The fluent manual suggests increasing the time averages increment in the iterations panel, I have done this but with no success. I was hoping someone has had a similar situation and could offer some advice. Thank you all very much for your time and any future advice.
