hello all i have a question about VOF model. i'm trying to slove some VOF problem. but it is quite hard then my co-worker wants to solve this using CFD-ACE (we are using FLUENT right now) he said CFD-ACE is better for solving VOF model. but i can not sure about that. i can't find any good reason for that. if any of you know about this, please help me!

If you have Fluent and are already familiar with it, I don't see why you wouldn't use it. I use Fluent for a free surface swirling/mixing application using VOF and it does a great job--the NITA solver is especially helpful as it can give you a significant speed increase. That said, I am not familiar with CFD-ACE but from the description on their site it appears that it does not have as many options for VOF flow. Hope this is helpful. -KW

hi,

(VOF) module in ACE+ enables the simulation of a mixture of two immiscible fluids, including the effects of surface tension.
and it is very well compatible with Heat Transfer, Stress, Deformation, Magnetic, and Chemistry/Biochemistry modules.
