cooper mesh coarsening with tri meshed source

Hi!

Is there a possibility, to coarsen a cooper mesh with tri meshed source face?

I have a immersed body (like a cube) and the whole domain is meshed with cooper (source face meshed with tri mesh, the volume was extrapolated in flow direction)

Now, because the BL on the 6 sides is meshed very fine, the mesh above the BL in extrapolation direction of the cooper scheme is very fine as well. Also, on the level of the faces perpendicular to the projection direction the fineness is high above the BL.

And that causes a VERY high number of cells. It would be nice to unite the fine cells far away from the body and so produce hanging knots… But, fluent or gambit do not allow, to coarsen that mesh.

Any help is highly appreciated

Ralf

Hi

try using a size function with the "source" being the 6 sides of the cube.

Good luck

hi!

thanks for your responce!

But I think, i can not use sizing functions on the faces of the cube-like body. I would not be able to use cooper scheme any more!

I am only using a sizing function on the source face of the cooper scheme.

Any futher ideas?

Ralf
