meshing a fan using gambit

Hi, All,

I am new with gambit. I want to create a surface mesh for a fan and import it in CFX. The workbench can't mesh this thin surface so I am using gambit.

The fan is created in UG as 3D thin surface(no thickness). I imported it into gambit and created meshes on each faces of the fan. When I exported as mesh file, it did write out a .msh file but with a warning: At least one geometry entity has no mesh for export. Then in CFX the mesh file can't be imported.

What should I do to create this surface mesh in gambit and import in CFX?

Thank you so much for your suggestions!

Hi Tony,

I really dont understand why you cant mesh that in CFX. It is simple surface meshing.

It looks like it is not writing any mesh file.

When you import that on to CFX what is the error you get.

When you are exporting a 2d mesh file in gambit it is a practice to create the geometry in the XY plane. Since it is 3d be sure to get the concepts right.

Thanks Kind Regards Elleana
