Hi, I have a question about an error I get when I re-open my .cas fine after iteration. I have set up my case and data file on my own computer, then I have done the simulation of my case on an other computer. No errors in any of the situations. After the simulation I have saved the case and data file on the computer where the simulation was running and try to re-opening the case and data file on my own computer. When I try opening the case file I get the following error message:
Building... grid, face[995439]->cell0[-721419036] on thread 32 out of range (0<=cell<425382). Error: Build_Grid: grid error. Clearing partially read grid. Error: FLUENT received a fatal signal (ACCESS_VIOLATION) Error Object: () Error: access: unbound variable Error Object: get-var I have had no problems with opening the case file before the simulation this is only happening after the simulation is done. Hope someone can help. |

Hi,
The interesting part of the error is access violation. Can i ask how you managed to get Fluent on your own computer? Is it at home and if so how do you get the license key!? Is it a dodgy version you found on the internet? If so this may be why. If both computers are say at a university and have the licenses, check that they are the same version. Maybe one has been upgraded and there are compatibility issues. Carlos. |

Hi
The error seems to be with Version of Fluent. The fluent that you're using to run Simulations on have either higher or 64 bit version of Fluent while the one you have on desktop seems to be 32 bit. |

I agree with Vinod, this is the typical error that occurs opening a case file written in a latter version of Fluent. Maybe you have an older version on the first computer, and a latter one on the computer used to iterate.
Hope it will help |

Hi, Thanks for your response. Ja, the Fluent versions on the two computers are not the same. Thank you for your suggestion.
