Default Modelling the movement of a liquid surface

Hello All,

I have to model a water tank with an inflow and an outflow in an unsteady 3D problem.

In the tank there is an interface water-air because the tank is not completely full. This surface is the one I want to model. I want to study its vertical movement.

Can anyone tell me which kind of grid or boundary condition I have to use?

Thanks in advance.

I think you have to set up two different zones in Gambit, and the surface defined as Interface. Then in Fluent you can set up the material property for each zone. Anyway I am not sure this is the best way, try this and let me know

Hi,

For interface tracking, vof model is best one. But depends upon the inlet and outlet of the geometry, Eulerian model or vof model can be used.

hope it will help you
