Hi all,

my work is to simulate the flow and heat transfer in slurry consists of water and some percentage of phase change materials in microchannel.when this slurry or suspension enter to the channel is heated and these microencapsulated phase change materials is melted.my problem is I dont know how to introduce the value of volume fraction percentage of PCM in the slurry in fluent to tell fluent that the fluid is not PCM in all but it contain a percentage of PCM in water .

Please any one have an information about how to simulate this suspention and how to process the melting of the microencapsulated PCM in fluid and entering its value of volume fraction in fluent to help me .

Looking for your replay and help

Regards

sorry, for interrupting, can you tell me how to do melting simulation of a solid material, is there vof is needed? can you help me...please tell me the procedure.

I think you do not need to use the VOF as long as you use the melting/solidification model where this model will help you to simulate the PCM ( in Fluent software).
Good luck

I am looking to model refrigerant evaporating to gain energy to solidify PCM on the other side of a wall. Does the community have any idea, if any please help.
