GAMBIT problem with 3D Boundary Layer when meshing

Hi all,

i got an error when meshing the domain volume. At the trailing edges of a boat keel with the ballast bulb the surface boundary layer on the foil and bulb surface don't go around the "trailing edge" edge and when meshing, GAMBIT gives an error : "Currently, 3D boundary layers are limited to flat face groups with the same boundary layer on all faces. A discontinuity has been found where one face has a boundary layer and the adjacent one does not. The problems occur in volume v_volume.6 along the following edges : v_edge.136, v_edge.148 and v_edge.133"

I tried to add the trailing edge edge in the Boundary Layer but it doesn't help

Any Idea?

Thanks

Anthony

That error occurs when you don't have all the faces selected correctly. Also, it occurs when gambit can't find a logical start-finish point for the 3D boundary layer. Are you trying to wrap the boundary layer around the trailing edge?

Yes I'd like to wrap the BL around the trailing edge! do you know how to do that ? even with the "wedge corner shape" option in the BL menu, it does not work. Thanks
