Default Help: Calculated Nusselt number is too large.

Hi friends,

We are simulating air flow of 38.1m/s and 300K crossing a cylinder with the surface temperature of 400K and diameter of 0.1m using FLUENT. In the simulation we use steady solver, standard K-e turbulent model and wall function with 2nd order scheme and Y+ in the range of 20~300.

Our problem is, the local Nusselt numbers seem much higher (almost doubled) than the published data in the heat transfer textbook, and also the Nusselt number distribution along the cylinder surface is also not good.

What can you suggest with it?

Thanks,

Perry
