DPM Body Force

Hello All

I am trying to solve for particle trajectories

These are charged particles

I am solving for electric field and defining the body force as force = charge * electric field

When I solve for trajectories without including bf, the equations converge and particle trajectories are displayed

When I add the body force, the trajectories show "incomplete" for all injections.

Also the continuity and momentum equations also become very slow in their convergence

Can anyone let me know what could be the issue?

Thank you

Sandilya

In DPM panel there is an input of number of steps. You should increase it very much! This is the number of time steps (DPM time steps) you want the particles to be solved. Thus a trajectory of a particle will not be further calculated if it goes out from your outlet or this number is reached. You will suffer a little from computational cost!
