Hi, just a quick question about an error message i am getting in fluent..

i have imported a gambit model into fluent, and after setting boundary conditions etc. i get the following error message when i try to begin iterating a solution:

Error: 1000000: Failed to allocate 52.43 MB Memory (...\...\src\amgif.c:1048)

Error Object: ()

Does this mean that the computer i am running this simulation on does not have enough memory for the simulation i am trying to run? Also, what would be the best way to get around this, as i dont really have any other option for computers.

Would a coarser gambit meshed model help? or can i change any settings in fluent?

thanks.appreciate the help.

regards corey.

Hi,

yes, a coarser mesh would help. In Fluent, you also could coarsen the mesh. Go to "adapt". Take care, that only the "coarsening" option is applied and "refinement" is disabled.

There are a number of possibilities, to coarsen the mesh - depending on the situation, you may coarsen it according to the distance from the wall, a certain iso-value,...

Best wishes Ralf
