Discrete Phase Modeling
Hey,
I have a problem in Fluent. I'm modeling particles in an airflow, and I get a number of particles that is incomplete. I have allready increased the max number of steps to the limit (1e+9). What can I do? Thx |
Re: Discrete Phase Modeling
try to reduce length scale.

Re: Discrete Phase Modeling
I tried, it didn't work :(

Re: Discrete Phase Modeling
The DPM does not work well for particles with very long residence times. You should try the eulerian-eulerian multiphase model.

Re: about Discrete Phase Model in spray cooler
i doing project in discrete phase model (water droplet) impinge on continuous phase model (hot gases) to reduce temperature of (hot gases)continuous phase.that is employ on spray cooler.i want your help as early as possible.my mail id:mechgbalaji@yahoo.co.in

and how can i check the residence time?

Re: Discrete Phase Modeling
Hey, Ebrahim. In DPM model, Incomplete trajectories are those that were terminated when the maxium allowed number of time stepes was exceeded. You can adjust maximum number of steps for the particles. However, the number of incomplete trajectories sometimes can not be diminished, in one of my case, 10% particles are incomplete whatever how i adjust the maxium number. And in another two cases with the similar geometry model, the incomplete number is 0, and the aborted number is about 1%. So I think the incomplete particle fate has relation with the complexity of the geometry shape of your case.
I'll send u a ppt about the introduction of DPM. :) |
