I am investigating square obstacle (size is H=1m) flow.
For this problem results Fluent calculated are in good agreement with experimental data only for laminar model: amplitude of lift force about 0.8, Struhal number Sh=f*H/V=0.15 (Reynolds number is 100000) But for the turbulent models such as Spalart-Allmmaras or Srandart K-E model calculations shown sufficent oscilations smoothing by turbulent viscosity. The Fluent options are: Turbulence Intensity 3% Turbulence Lenght Scale 1m |

Hi,
You may want to search this forum for previous posts on this topic. Bare inmnd that your problem is time-dependant in order to give you the proper wake disturbances. Also, the choice of turbulence model is paramount (k-w, KW_SST, RK-E or RSM) Amr |
