How to set particle material in DPM panel

Hello,

In fluent DPM, I want to use a new particle material, but how to set particle material?

Thank you for your help!!

Best Regards,

In the injection panel.

Hi, Allan Walsh,

Thank you for your answer. I cann't select material in injeciton panel, there are only one material called anthracite for choice. How to add other materials into the injection panel?

Waiting for your answer.

yes, u r right. then, you can make your own material by going to the "materials" panel and from the materials panel, u find somehwhere it is written inert solids..and then u find it is anthracite by default. feel free to modify it by giving your density, etc. all the options are there in the material panel and then ofcourse save it. the FluentUG also explains abt this. i am sure you will have no problem now :)

good luck !

Hi, Fluent_guy,

Thank you for your answer. when I define a new solid material, I can just modify one parameter called density, but I want to define other parameters such as Cp, standard state enthalpy, etc. when copy the datebase materials, I also just find one parameter called density which can be modified. I have tried many times, it really confused me.

Waiting for your answer.

Re: How to set particle material in DPM panel

you can use DEFINE_DPM_PROPERTY to change some properties of the discrete material. check link 2.5.9 Fl6.3 UDF manual thanks.

Hi,Fluent_guy,

If donn't use UDF functions, can I change the properties of the discrete material.

thank you for your answer.

Have you activated the other models in Fluent. If energy not activated, Cp won't be needed, etc.

Hi,

On the isothermal conditon, I think it is no necessary to activate the energy. Is it right? But I want to setup the parameters such as Cp,etc. Can you help me?

thank you for your answer.
