No-constant dynamic layer in-cylinder

Hi, is it possible to create a cylinder (using dynamic meshing, in -cylinder model), with variable cell size. I mean, 0.2 mm in the first layer and 0.8 mm in the last one after the expanssion proccess????..I donīt know how, maybe with UDF'S?? Thanks

Hi Mary.

If you need to retain only the height of the first cell under the head, you can do it without any UDF.

In dynamic mesh zone select the piston and under meshing options set the cell height (hideal) so that:

hmin > (1+SplitFactor)*hideal (you can find SplitFactor under layering option in the dynamic mesh parameter panel)

tuning split factor and hideal, I believe you can achive your goal.
