Default Rendering Fluent Data in Paraview

hi all

I am testing Paraview 3.2.1 as an alternativ postprocessor for fluent. First results look promising. But when trying to render wall surfaces from fluent (unstructured tetra grid), i get surfaces that looks incomplete or distored. I am sure it is a rendering issue therefore i played around with that options in PV without success so far.

Are there any tips out there?

Thanks Burk

How did you export from Fluent to paraview?

I exported Fluent dat and cas data to ensight gold format. Then I read the ensigt format in paraview which works fine.

In the mean time I did the same import in paraview 2.6 there the rendering problem did not occur. I copied the default light settings to PV3.2. Now the surface rendering looks fine.

Sounds good. Are boundary zones preserved by Ensight import to paraview?

Yes they are. In PV 2.6 the even the zone names are preserved. In PV 3.* the zone names are substiuted by PV internal numbering. this is a disadvantage for PV 3* to PV 2.6
