Urgennt : DPM Mass Flow Rate

Hello, I'm solving 3D unsteady flow using DPM. Particles are injected at the inlet and I want to get the mass flow rate of dispersed phase at the outlet. Could you help me please? Kind regards. Chouki

Re: Urgennt : DPM Mass Flow Rate

you can use: display - particle tracks and under report type choose summary. the mass summary will be printed in the console

the total initial and final mass flow rates and the change in mass flow rate are reported in the Initial, Final, and Change columns.of course the escaped flow rate is what you are looking for. Also with this information, you can determine how much mass was transferred to the continuous phase from the particles

Thank you very much Hossam. Now, I want to save the mass flow rate of dispersed phase at the outlet every 5 time steps during the simulation (10000 time steps), what I should do? Best regards,

you can automaticly save the whole data file from file/write/autosave, and increase the frequency of data file saving to 5

Re: Urgennt : DPM Mass Flow Rate

Thank you very much again Hossam, I followed the steps you gave me in the previous message I found the following data at time = 4.0 s: Fate: escaped- zone 20 (outlet), Number (600000), Mass (kg) : initial = 190, final =190, change =0. I consider that the total mass of dispersed phase left the domain across the outlet is 190 kg during 4.0 seconds. Is is true? Could you like please explain me what it does mean by initial mass and final mass. Kind regrads, chouki
