Turbulence Intensity

Hey, i'm modelling a turbulent flow past a circular cylinder and am unsure on what to set the turbulence intensity at the Re number i am using for the flow is 10,000. Can someone please help?

Cheers.

Re: Turbulence Intensity

normally u can set it to around 4%.any freestream turbulence decays rapidly and doesnt affect the solution much

Re: Turbulence Intensity

Turbulence Intesity = 0.16 x Re**(-1/8)

Cheers thanks for that.

Btw do you also know what i should set my turbulence viscosity ratio as, or should i just leave it as the default value of 10.

Re: Turbulence Intensity

but in case you are using multiphase flow with different reynolds number, you should get the mean Reynolds???
