Hello dear Colleagues,
when dealing with VOF in Fluent, we see that FLUENTS calculate residuals for continuity and momentum equations....but not for the volume fraction equation...Can anyone tell me why???
This last equation is also resolved no???

Thanks for help
Regards

As you know continuity and volume fraction are in close relation. the residuals on continuity are the same for the volume fraction (I think so... there is a logic...)

No....the proof, take a look to residuals in an eulerian model (Fluent's eulerian). U will see that the volume fraction residuals are monitored too

The tracking interface is accomplished by the solution of continuity for the VOF. tat y showing only continuity equation with momentum.

Thank u
If u understood good, u are saying that VOF solves NS and the continuity equation only?
4 equations and not 5?
