left-handed-faces detected in tgrid

Hallo,

I´ve created a mesh and checked it in tgrid. During the checking-process a prompt-message appeared: "left-handed-faces" After this I get the message: "Check mesh failed"

How can I fix this problem and improve my mesh?

Thanks in advance

Arnold

use this command grid/modify/repair-face-handedness

Hallo Wanghuiru,

thanks for your reply.

I´m not a professional in handling tgrid yet. Should I type in this command? I tried it, but there was an error prompt like: error: eval: unbound avriable

error: Object ...

First we should compare our versions of tgrid. I´m using tgrid-version 4.0.16

Actually I have no button called grid, modify or repair-face-handedness.

Greetings

Hallo Wanghuiru,

I did the command. I have to type mesh/modify/.. . But the command repair-face-handedness does not exist in my version of tgrid! I tried it in fluent, there I have this command.

It seems, that the mesh is to bad. To remesh the geometry might be the better choice.

Thanks for your help

hi
You need to make export double precision files. In the export preferences, change "single" to "double" for Export precision. This must be done before creating a mesh.
You will also need to run Fluent in double precision
Left-handed faces often occur when two dimensions are large compared to the third. Modelling cities and landscapes can produce this problem in single precision.

Hi poya0070,

I couldn't find an option for exporting mesh in double precision in ANSYS Meshing, am I missing sth? Thanks a lot.

hey arnold, did you solve the problem. Am also facing similar issue with mesh created using ICEM CFD dont know how to move further.
