Meshing on simple geometry
I have a simple 2D geometry as shown in the picture.
http://www.imageno.com/qk018qje3yx8pic.html And I can only mesh it with Qua/Pave and this is the view after my mesh. http://www.imageno.com/ob3kq9l1v7vgpic.html But this meshing does not look good and the result i obtain from fluent with this match is different with the result shown in text book. Why??? Any idea on how to mesh this thing??? Waiting for reply.. |
Re: Meshing on simple geometry
I forgot to mention that my objective is to study the flow over a cylinder in 2D.

Re: Meshing on simple geometry
Dear pukiwawa First mesh the edges, I mean the circle and the rectangle. Remember that the divisions' numbers must be equal. Then mesh the face through face meshing. If you did not succeed, send the file to me, maybe I can fix it for you.(E-mail: keshavarzian.mohsen@gmail.com) Regards.

Re: Meshing on simple geometry
Dear MK, What type of meshing are you refering to? Pave?

Re: Meshing on simple geometry
I meant some type of quad meshing. You should make corresponding meshes (edge meshes) on corresponding parts of cylinder and peripheral square. IIn this way, meshes near the cylinder will be so fine and as we get farther, meshes become larger. I hope you get the point.

Re: Meshing on simple geometry
Dear MK,
First, I mesh the circle(edge), then i set the number of interval count of the wall. And this is what i get. http://www.imageno.com/r0ke36nqeccwpic.html Is this a good quality mesh? |
