Meshing
Is this mesh consider a good mesh???
http://www.imageno.com/r0ke36nqeccwpic.html I read this msh file in fluent and when i start to iterate with k-w models. A message "turbulent viscosity limited to viscosity ratio of 1.000000e+005 in 191 cells" I know the problem has something to do with my mesh. How to know where do the cells jump occur? How to check? Waiting for reply |
Re: Meshing
sounds good enough mesh to me,
intiate with k = 0.0001 and omega = 10 and you will not see that warning if the mesh is okey. |
Re: Meshing
What does the K and omega means?
|
Re: Meshing
turbulence model's k and w.
You were using k-w model, remember. |
Re: Meshing
I know that's k-w turbulent model.
But I wish to know the meaning if possible. usually i set w and w =1 which are by default |
Re: Meshing
Do I still need to use k-w model even the Re is below 5 X 10^5?

Re: Meshing
using or not using turbulence model is what you got to decide. I think in your situtation i would be using turbulence model. SST KW is good choice generally.
What i suggested you was that default initialization could start this warning, but if you initialize differently and if solve convergence you will not see this warning. I usuallyt initialize with these values and have not got this warning. |
Re: Meshing
I am not able devlop geomitry for mixed flow pump since it is too complex. what approach should i adopt.can i get cad geomitry or msh file for waterjet propulsion or at least mixed flow pump

Re: Meshing
Hi pukiwawa,
You can try smooth/swap options to increase the mesh quality. Increase the number of iterations to smooth the mesh. |
