problem with VOF model

I have a problem in simulating of wave generation in a tank. I use 2D mesh, VOF model, inviscid fluid and used UDF to make one end as sinusoidal movement. I don't know why I can not see the wave propagate to the other end of the tank (It just propagate about 1.5m (wave length is 0.5m) then disappear) even I had extented the enough calculating time (I manually estimated group velocity, knowned-tank length). Could anybody explain me why? Thank in advance

Re: problem with VOF model

I think your mesh must be fine enough to capture the wave motion accurately and to avoid numerical diffusion. Especially, along the wave height the discretization cannot be too coarse.

Re: problem with VOF model

Thank you, I have already refined my mesh and used 2nd-order. The result shows better.

2nd problem with VOF model

I try to simulate free surface with wave generation but I don't know how to choose boundary condition to simulate radiation condition. I mean the wave will progress infinitely. I had tried to use flow out and pressure out but the result is not satisfied. Could anybody please to help me about this problem?

Thanks,
