Default Trans/Supersonic Flow - just material setting?

hi,

could you please tell me, if it is enough to change the settings from constant to other settings in the "define - material" menus, or do I hove to set some more?

I am a noobie in this trans and super sonic flow area, so I don't realy know, where to push buttons for this.
