Boundary & Initial Cond. with Different Fluent ver

Hello,

does anybody know, if you can read in boundary and initial conditions from newer fluent verions into an older fluent version? Reading the case file causes Fluent to crash, whereas the mesh file works fine.

Any comments are very much appreciated. Many thanks, Peter

How far back are you going? V6.3 to 6.2 or 6.1? Back to version 4?

Some times Fluent complains when reading case files from newer versions into older ones, but can still calculate.

Are you using "read-bc" to read in the bc's and conditions? You probably know that you can use a text editor to edit the bc file and may be able to modify something not supported in the older version.

And, of course, you can interpolate the data files for different versions.

Hi,

I am trying to transport the bc from 6.3.22 to 6.1.22. The write/read-bc command does also not work, even from 6.1.22 to 6.3.22.

Has anybody advice how to manipulate the files in an text editor?
