Restarting from the previous time step

Hi All ;

I am wondering if Fluent allows the restart of a transient (including a dynamic grid) calculation from the begining of a time step (including the previous grid) if a pre-assigned condition is not being satisfied at the end of that time step? I have a great emphasis on restoring of the previous grid.

Thanks Parsa

Hi,

In dynamic mesh simulations, once the grid is modified by the solver, it can not be restored. So save the case and data file before starting the simulation and also intermediate files during simulation.

Hi JSM ;

Thanks for your comment. In that case, Fluent is not the best tool for the transient simulations, involving many time steps.
