Velocity Profile

Hello,

I am trying look at the velocity profile for a ball valve that I am modeling. My solution converges using the Reynolds Stress equation with a velocity input and a pressure output. I know that there is some sort of turbulence going on inside the ball valve, but when I look at the velocity profile I am getting a uniform velocity profile throughout the whole valve until the output. This does not make any sense to me. Any suggestions?

Re: Velocity Profile

Even if you are seeing uniform velocity profile, turbulence emay be present.

So look for turbulent quantities such as k and turb. intensity.

The time-men uniform filed may contain turbulence which is averaged out.
