# Area-weighted or Vertex average ??

 January 20, 2009, 03:22 Area-weighted or Vertex average ?? #1 Conan Guest   Posts: n/a If I wanna compute the overall heat transfer coefficient on a solid surface, after convergence, I first define a "Custom Field Functions": heat-flux/(temperature-300),named as local-h. Then in the "surface integral" report, which option is best for obtaining the overall heat transfer coefficient, Area-weighted or Vertex average? Thanks.

The solid surface has constant heat flux BC, if define: heat-flux/(temperature-300), I think the temperature is obtained by vertex averaged, that is interpolated data from adjacented cell values.
