Engine Inlet problem

Hi everyone I have some trouble simulating a Engine Inlet system with fluent in 3D My CFD set up is velocity of Air inlet 60 m/s and and turbulence model that I using is k-epsilon teh simulation goes well but on the fluent panel appear reverse flow in several faces Can anybody help me what does mean and how can I solve this problem? thank you so much Alfonso

Re: Engine Inlet problem

hi reverse flow means flow is coming out from inlet surface when u create one surface in inlet plane and display vector u can see how flow become reverse . remedy: check u r boundary con. try for redusing inlet velocity

Re: Engine Inlet problem

why dont you create the natural boudary condition at inlet of your inlet.,that is the static far field.

Re: Engine Inlet problem

Also, if you're running a boundary layer simulation those reversed flow faces are most likely sitting within the BL where the near-wall velocities are near zero.

hai,

I am trying to simulate diesel engine.i am at the begining stage please any body send tutorial which covers

1)Creating diesel engine with inlet,outlet valves and piston. 2) Creating a sliding/moving mesh 3)Simulating a diesel engine
