File=>Import=>ChemKIN Mechanism

good luck.

Re: GRI 2.1

This mechanism will not work as usual. Since in this reaction mechanism there is no reaction sets available in it. The reactions are hard coded in Fluent.

Re: GRI 2.1

There are 2 mechanisms built into Fluent 6, both CARM reductions of GRI-Mech 2.1. One has 19 species and is very good (ie validated over a very large set of problems and range of conditions. The other is a 9 species, and is less general, but also less expensive. To use these, you need to use File -> Import -> CHEMKIN Mechanism in the gui, and use the following inputs.

19 species mechanism Material Name: gri2.1-arm19 Mechanism Name: ARM19.che Thermo File Name: therm-arm19.dat

9 species mechanism Material Name: gri2.1-arm9 Mechanism Name: ARM9.che Thermo File Name: therm.dat

The important thing here is that Fluent identifies the mechanism by the Material Name, so you have to use these. Note that no reactions will show up in the Materials gui.

Once you have imported your mechanism you can enable species and reactions, then BCs etc. etc.
