Default modelling a rotating cylinder in fluent?rply asas

to model a rotating cylinder with some angular velocity either we need to do dynamic meshing or it only needs some steps in fluent?Does static meshing not enough to do so.plz reply soon.

you may use single or multiple rotating reference frame approach or sliding mesh approach in Fluent.

i dont think u need udf to do this becoz u can make it as a wall and make it moving wall..if the mesh is rotating then u have to create a udf for dynamic mesh...thi is ho i can help u..i just finishd a 2d rotary vane pump problem after long struggle..so if u cpould elaborate ur problem..can help u more.thanks regards hari

you should use the MRF (moving refrence frame),you must have a cylinder around your disc that you specify as fluid and then in the fluid panel you set moving reference frame rather than stationnary.and you can change the unit of the rotating frame in define-units'angular velocity Hope it helps
