modeling perforated plate
Hi all,
I am trying to model a perforated plate at the end of a pipe as a porous media in 2D. Can some one help me on how to do it? I know the porosity and K(the flow resistance coefficient) of the perforated plate. I would be glad if some one tells me the procedures to determine the coefficients for fluent. Thanx in advance, Mokemex
Re: modeling perforated plate
That's explicitly written on Fluent user's guide. See porous media chapter.

Re: modeling perforated plate
Dear Pablo,
Thank you for your response. From the fluent user's guide worked example (equations 6.1910 to 6.1913), I could calulate C2, it becomes 1122, but this method doesn't say about how to get 1/alpha? Then, since I have an experimental data (pressure drop Vs velocity) of the same plate, I used eqns. 6.1922 and calculated both C2 and 1/alpha,. However, the new C2 is a completely different number, C2= 0.7720. That's where I am confused?! I am sure I am missing something, Can you help me now? Thanks again, Mokemex
