Default solid conduction problem bc's

Hi everybody,

I'm solving a pure solid conduction 3D problem. In 2D I've learned that one should make the surface between 2 different materials as interior, however for some reason in 3D this does not work, as Fluent states that there's "only one adjacent cell thread". Does anybody have a solution for this? I don't want wall bc's because I want Fluent to calculate the temperature itself (the outside faces of the model have wall bc's). Thanks in advance.

Thanks Ralf! However, does patching imply that other boundary conditions will be overruled?

Hi!

the BC at the boundaries to the solid are as they were.

I don't know about the BCs of the solid itself... I guess, they will be conserved - as long as it is not a fixed temperature BC

ah it was a fixed temperature BC however I solved the problem already, I seperated all necessary faces and remeshed, this way I can set the walls to interior... hard work but it paid off tnx anyway
