very urgent
Dear
My geometry is on a section from flat plate fin and tube heat exchanger to simplify my geometry for you to be able to imagine., you can imagine it like the air flows over a non-zero thickness flat plate inside the computational domain and there is a tube perpendicular on the plate and through it. I'm using the energy and turbulence models. my problem is how to calculate the heat transfer coefficient to compare with experimental result. Also when I use the report ----> surface integral ----> Area-weighted average ----> wall fluxes ----> surface heat transfer coeff. I choose all the faces of the computational domain, I found that there is heat transfer coefficient for symmetry faces and also for the sold thickness of the flat plate. Is that correct or may be I have something wrong? Please this very urgent if you can help me. Thanks a lot |
hi,
you need to separate the faces whose heat transfer coefficient you need by labeling them differently while setting the boundary conditions itself.. btw..im working on a similar thing.. what boundary condition have you set for the tube walls? |
Hello my dear Sashankh
thanks a lot for your reply, actually I have separated the faces that I need for heat transfer coefficient by labeling them in GAMBIT and I set them as wall boundary type, but the results I got from surface integrals of heat transfer coefficient is different from the experiment, also the most confused question is what do I have to input in the references values in report panel for temperature. thank you very much for your help |
