Thanks for your reply Sorry but in fluent's help it is mentioned that the number in the "net" is the sum of all values above but also if you have chosen the mass flow rate it refers to mass flow rate imbalance test and the same if you have chosen the total heat transfer rate it will refer to energy imbalance test, so please do you know what is the maximum limit for "net". What do you mean with limit?
From 6.3 Help: ------------- The steps for generating the report are as follows: 1. Specify which flux computation you are interested in by selecting Mass Flow Rate, Total Heat Transfer Rate, or Radiation Heat Transfer Rate under Options. 2. In the Boundaries list, choose the boundary zone(s) on which you want to report fluxes. 3. Click on the Compute button. The Results list will display the results of the selected flux computation for each selected boundary zone, and the box below the Results list will show the summation of the individual zone flux results. |

Hello dear
Actually I know these steps and may be I didn't explain well. If you could see in Tutorial Guide pdf file in FLUENT help page 1-26, 1-27, 4-19, 5-23 and other pages. it is mentioned in the last point. May question is what is the maximum number should appear in the "net", and is there a mathematical solution to specify the imbalance test or I direct take the "net" as the imbalance test. Thanks for your continuous reply |

ok I see what you mean.
You want to know if there is a limit for the imbalance (0.2%) In this case, it's up to you, there is no guidelines about it. The "net" is the imbalance of your computation, and also it will give you an idea of a good convergence (or not) |

Yes you are right, but how to be sure because I'm a master's student and I have to support any thing I mention.
Sorry I'd like to ask you another question. Actually I'm doing a simulation on a portion of heat exchanger and I want to specify the heat transfer coefficient, do you know how, please? Thanks a lot |
