Enabling Acceleration in Moving Reference Frame
Dear All,
Is there a UDF to enable acceleration of moving reference frame (MRF) in Fluent 6.2? The standard Fluent capabilities allow only for a constant angular velocity. This thread: http://www.cfd-online.com/Forums/flu...imulation.html says that such UDF exists on fluentusers.com Where should I look for it? (which directory, path, section etc) Regards. |
Can you shed some light on how to implement this if you ever found it?
Thank you. |
Hello,
Please read this thread: http://university.fluent.com/forum/v...a13ec3903bf2ac It explains the solution. As I recall, I generated a profile for the rotation of the entire system and used dynamic mesh. Regards. |
Thanks for your answer. Actually I want to accelerate the reference frame, not rotating but translating it.
I cannot access fluentusers.com but I think it suggests to use a dynamic mesh. I assume this means moving the object instead of the fluid, doesn't it? The problem with using a dynamic mesh is that the body displacement is much larger than the domain size... |
Yes, I needed to rotate the entire domain. You can control displacement with your UDF/profile.
