Does anybody know how to set up a batch run of multiple fluent cases? Say I have 3 case files which I each want to run over night but I only got one license. So when one is finished another starts up. I'm running on windows. Kid regards Michael Bo

You should use a batch file with input file. Normally it's explain in the manual.

Hi, here is one example of 2 calculations running in batch. Edit a file, say batch.jou with: rcd 10mm_v2_11cst.cas yes it 3000 wd 10mm_v2_11cst.dat yes

rcd 10mm_v2_80cst.cas yes it 3000 wd 10mm_v2_80cst.dat yes

Be carefull when you edit this text, especially under windows... if you decide after that to read this journal file under unix.... it will scratch because of the windows edit tool. With Ultra Edit...there is no problem. mAx

Try a Fluent Journal file.

Under Fluent File- Start Journal File, then read and solve all your cases for 2-3 iterations, and write case and data. The Stop Journal file.

Find the journal file on your hard drive and change the number of itterations to the number you want i.e. 2000 per case.

Load Fluent, and Read Journal File - it will then do exactly what you did previously, except with the correct number of itterations for each case.

this is how it is:

file read-case-data xxx1.cas solve dual-time-iterate yyy1 file write-case-data zzz1.cas file read-case-data xxx2.cas yes (comment: for discard cas dialog) solve dual-time-iterate yyy2 file write-case-data zzz2.cas

for steady case i think it will be solve iterate yyy1 but i am not sure, my case was unsteady. hope it helps.
