Variable temperature on the wall as the Boundary Condition

Hi Everybody,

I am a new user (I am petroleum engineer) of Fluent 6.3 and I am modeling a 2D Natural Convection in a vertical cylindrical annulus. I would like to put a linear decrease in temperature on the inner wall of the cylinder (for instance 50 oC at the top of the cylinder and decreases linearly to 40 oC, i.e. T(Z,R=Ri)=50-Z where 0<=Z<=1 m (Hieght) and Ri is radius of inner wall). Would you please tell me if this is possible to do in Fluent. If yes, how?

Many Thanks in Advance,
Mehdi

You can use a "udf" (user defined function) to specify temperature as a function of the location on the boundary surface using DEFINE_PROFILE.
Google "udf" and "DEFINE_PROFILE" for more info.
