Hi all,
In my case,I provide the uniform (consistent)velocity with the magnitude of 1.5m/s at the inlet surface(the surface consists of several small faces, all them are with the value of 1.5m/s),but when i check the inlet surface again after simulation,i get the value of 1.55m/s(Vectors-velocity-deselect auto range-get the maximum value). Why these two values are not consistent?Does this mean some part in mesh or Fluent is wrong? I do hope i can get some explainations from you. Thanks in advance. |

Hi!
I thing, that little maximum value is due to the velocity profile, that is about to begin to establish. For checking velocity, use ->report->surface integrals. Select the areas(s) you are interested in. Use the "area-weighted average" velocity (x,y,z or magnitude) Ralf
