Floating body.

1 Attachment(s)
Hello everyone,

I want to model floating body on the surface of the water, which floats by its own buoyancy. I want to assume constant water flow, where floating body most likely would have the same speed as water flow. I want to model its travel history along the run. Please see attached picture for reference.

Could anyone please provide some tip how to define it in Fluent?

If one defines element like this in the middle of the domain it will be simply fixed element with wall boundary conditions, which will not move. I still want to have this element rigid and with wall boundary conditions, however, I want to have it float and traveling with water.

Thank you,
KRST

did you finished it? could you please help me about it.
do you have paper from it?

Hi there,

It was not my main topic of research, but I think the problem can be tackled with 6DOF Fluent model. Try to find the tutorial, it is on the web.

Best,
Psor
