Including radiation when temperature is expressed as a UDS in porous media

Hi all ,

I am trying to model flow in porous media using non-equilibrium model (two different energy equations for the solid and gas phases). Where I used a UDS as the temperature of the solid phase.
My problem now is this: I need to add the effect of radiation emmited from the solid phase. The first thing I tried to do is implement discrete ordinates method using also UDS's, but it was a little difficult. Can anyone help me with that ? it is not necessarily to use discrete ordinates method, any suggestion is welcomed.

Thanks in advance :) ,
MJ

Hi,

You seem to have a similar problem as the one described in the following thread

http://www.cfd-online.com/Forums/flu...ous-media.html

Unfortunately - there is no response by Fluent support and no user interest expressed in solving it... We are now checking with STAR support (which seems much more responsive) if this is possible with their software.

thanks Rami for reply.
I checked the thread you gave me, it does look a little similar. Anyway, I think we made good progress with the method I mentioned above (implementing the DO method using UDS's) and that should do it.
Thanks again for your reply.
