Inviscid VOF rankine half body
I am trying to run an inviscid multiphase VOF simulation on Fluent 6.3. I want to recreate the known theoretical potential flow shape of the rankine half body. This is an initial step, I later plan to deform that known shape but so far I have been unable to recreate the body itself. I really would appreciate any help you might be able to give me I am really stuck.
So what I currently have is a large rectangular domain in which a small semi circle is placed on the bottom face, I have written a UDF in order to impose a variable velocity inlet BC on this face in order to match the theory. My other BCs are a wall at the top, a velocity inlet on one side with a pressure outlet at the other side. I initialise my domain by patching the known velocity field to the fluid and then by patching the volume fraction to 1 in a rectangular section within which the source is contained. What I would expect to see is that this shape would deform until it gets to being the theoretical shape, currently however it degenerates into a large vortex behind the semi circular shape. I have tried as many different solutions as I can think of with no luck, any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated.
