Rotating machinery modeling

I have not worked with anything rotating yet, so I don't even know if/how this can be done. My problem involves a piece of machinery with a horizontal axis of rotating paddles and baffles, along with stationary baffles attached to the outside case of this machinery that create a somewhat serpentine flowpath. The client would like this modeled in 3-D (I'm a grad student, working for a professor on this). The paddles aren't airfoils like turbomachinery, but the moving and stationary parts interact to direct the flow through the machine.

Can this be effectively modeled with MRF, sliding mesh, dynamic mesh, or???
