K-OMEGA for flow in branches?
hello;
i'm trying to find the best turbulence model in FLUENT to be used for flow in branches and manifolds. using some data i found that standars and SST K-OMEGA is the best. is this ok? as i understand, k-w is only used for heat transfer applications. So, is it ok to use it for flow in branches? thank you |
Menters SST model giving nice solution in adverse pressure gradient flows. I think in your situation it is the best 2-eqn model. I strongly recommend you to take a look at Menters article on AIAA Journal Vol. 32 No.8
Moreover SST model is largely being used in aerodynamic applications that includes massive seperation, such as oscillating airfoil etc. |
