I am totally new to CFD but actually I wanted to simulate something that I think shouldn't be very hard. I have access to Fluent and Ansys but I am completely unfamiliar to that. I want to simulate a falling object let's say a disk. I want to show when a disk falls how drag and lift forces act on this disk and by doing that I want to investigate tumbles and flutters in the motion of this disk. If someone please tell me how should I start which softwares should I use. Is there any tutorials.

you may use moving dynamic mesh with 6dof option.
There is a tutorial about 6dof on the fluentusers website

If the object is uniform (like a sphere), you can simulate it by keeping the solid stationary and the fluid to move over the object with the same velocity.
You can try this as an initial solution. This will give you the lift and drag forces on the object, but this will not capture the movements in the object.

Thanks a lot for your replies. Actually I want to create a disk and then I want show the motion of this disk because of fluid forces like drag and lift when this item falls so I want my object to move in fluid because of gravity and then calculate fluid forces on it. so I want a to solve Navier-Stokes equations for a falling paper. Unfortunately I don't have fluentusers login and pass so I don't have any access to it's tutorials so I would appreciate if someone can help me finding the tutorials that might be helpful because I am totally new to Fluent.

Don't plan to give velocity to disc. give opposite velocity to fluid in fluent. or else try your hands on ansys 12 workbench which is easier to work

We switched to OpenFOAM, so we don't have access to fluentusers anymore

Actually I have access to openfoam too and I did a tutorial on it so if you can help me with that it would be very helpful too. I thought fluent maybe a little bit easier but if you can guide me to how to start with openfoam that will be very very good too.

Try ansys 12 WB. It is easiest. or else try Comsol 3.5 or above. Here u have to design PDEs but solution is possible. Check there training manuals or install Ansys WB 12 and then go through initial tutorials and then refer back. Your problem will be solved.
