Dear CFD lovers,

When I set boundary condition in Fluent for inlet (which is in one side of ventilated enclosed room)
What is difference between:

1. Normal to boundary layer, magnitude a ,

2. Magnitude a in X direction , while in Z and Y magnitude is 0.

In inlet , according to experiments, it is a kind of uniform with V_x=a, while in y and z direction, velosities are Zero.

Could u tell me what i should use? Thanks a lot

regards, C.J

Hello C.J

if your inlet lies in y-z plane, both boundary specifications will be exactly the same.

cheers
