how to use CHEMKIN-CFD in Fluent

Fluent says it's incorporated CHEMKIN-CFD from Reaction Design into its latest version of Fluent. However, it seems that I don't see any link to this solver. I do see KINetics from Reaction Design in the species model panel. Is KINetics from Reaction Design the CHEMKIN-CFD solver? Can someone tell where to turn it on if they are not the same thing?

Thanks.

CHEMKIN-CFD was formerly known as KINetics. CHEMKIN-CFD is available in 6.2+ versions of FLUENT. On the Species Transport panel in FLUENT, you will see the KINetics from Reaction Design, i.e. CHEMKIN-CFD, option for the Laminar/Finite-Rate and EDC models. To use CHEMKIN-CFD, you will need to request a license from Reaction Design if you have not already done so.

Thanks.

Thanks for the reply.

In both Fluent 6.3 and Fluent 12, I don't see an option of CHEMKIN-CFD on the species transport panel. But I still see an option of KINetics from Reaction Design. Does this mean that the KINetics is actually CHEMKIN-CFD?

We sent our request to Reaction Design several times for a free license to CHEMKIN-CFD. But the Reaction Design NEVER replies to us. Could anyone know what is going on there?

Yes, the option will be displayed as KINetics from Reaction Design in FLUENT. This is the CHEMKIN-CFD option.

To get a license for CHEMKIN-CFD, you need to register on the Reaction Design website and upload your FLUENT license. Here is where you can request the license:

Thanks a lot for the reply.

We already registered for a license. We are waiting for it.

I have Fluent 12. and it has an option for CHEMKIN-CFD under "Options" in the Species Model office... but it is not available when the "Finite rate/eddy dissipation" option is active!

Any one with any idea?
